Classes in early August? Longer school days? Houston-area educators debate big changes for 2020-21

Houston school authorities plan on a “new normal” after the global pandemic comes to an end.

Local news reports, when campuses finally reopen, students will have the liberty to arrive early or leave late. They added that students can choose to spend more time in classrooms and some may even get extra attention from teachers.

As the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts life on a global level, educational institutes grapple with bringing students back on track. 

Debates surrounding reopening schools for the remainder of this year still continue. Some say that an extended calendar might be a solution. However, logistical issues still continue.
