Minnesota Vikings Upset The 49ers

Minnesota Vikings

San Francisco 49ers lost their 2nd game on the trot, a first in a 34-game stretch. Christian McCaffrey scored twice for the San Franciscans, but that was not enough as they went down 22-17 to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. Jordan Addison had control of this game as Kirk Cousins connected with the rookie for 2 touchdowns in the first half. Camryn Bynum made an interception, blocking Brock Purdy of the 49ers in the 4th quarter twice.

Addison took control of a brilliant contested throw from Charvarius Ward, the San Francisco 49ers cornerback at the fag end of the first half. He managed to spin his way out of the defenders and ease into the finishing zone. It was a 60-year score that put the Minnesota Vikings ahead by 16 to 7 as they headed into the second half.

Minnesota Vikings Win Makes It Two Losses In A Row For The 49ers

Addison came on big even as Justin Jefferson, the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, was sidelined, injuring his hamstring. Addison managed seven catches over 124 yards, his breakout at this stage. The 1st round USC draft pick had to leave briefly with cramps in his legs. But he also managed a reception over 14 yards on what seemed a deciding drive for the Minnesota Vikings. But then pulled a field goal deep on the right.

The San Francisco team took control at 40 with 1:11 left and no timeouts.  Purdy completed 2 short throws to make it to the Minnesota Vikings 40. But it was intercepted by Bynum who moved in on the pass that was directed for McCloud. He soared over the 49ers receiver to intercept it. After the positive start to this season for the 49ers with their 5 wins on the trot, the San Francisco team has now lost back-to-back games. They host the fast-improving Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
