Robert Lewandowski Has Found His Golden Foot At Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski

If Barcelona manages to win their first La Liga title since 2019 at Espanyol this weekend, a major part of that victory could be credited to their new talisman striker, Robert Lewandowski. The Polish forward is the top scorer in the league with 19 goals. Despite this successful first stint at a new club, fans can’t help but notice that the goals from his feet have dried up.

While he was notching 30 goals each season with Bayern Munich, he has barely crossed half that number with Barcelona. This is not to belittle his prowess, as his goals against Mallorca and Valencia created a difference between winning the league and losing it, while he also managed to keep Real Madrid at bay earlier during the campaign.

Robert Lewandowski Has Managed to Adapt To Barcelona’s Football- The Goals Are About To Burst

When Robert Lewandowski came to Barcelona in 2022, questions were raised about his adaptability to a new league. No one could ever question his track record with his impressive run for both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, but his transfer fee of €45 million definitely brought questions about the credibility behind such a purchase. Barcelona had to, in fact, sell several club assets in order to fund the last summer splurge which included the contract of Robert Lewandowski. He did blow those critics out of the water, with 9 goals in his first 7 league games.

But then came the troubles. Barcelona was kicked out of the Champions League, but it was Robert Lewandowski’s excellent capabilities that managed to keep the team at Europe’s top table. He managed to hit the back of the net five times in five separate games, which also included a brace against Inter. It almost guaranteed Inter’s exit, until a turn of fortunes has now seen the club almost on the verge of its first UCL final since 2010.
