Sir Elton John Ends His Final Tour

British singer Sir Elton John ends his final tour on July 8 in Stockholm, Sweden. The 76-year-old icon bid farewell to an emotional crowd as he finished his last show of his touring. Sir Elton John started the tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road back in 2018, however, the tour was abruptly interrupted with the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2021. Sir Elton John was also injured in 2021 and had hip replacement surgery, which further delayed his tour. 

While performing at the last show in Stockholm, Sir Elton said that it was the 330th show that he has done in the last 663 days. Sir Elton had also commented stating that it was a poignant evening, addressing the last show of his last tour. He also called it an amazing experience. Sir John had previously said in an interview with CBS Mornings back in 2022 that once his touring would end, he would like to spend time with family members. He has been touring since the age of 17, and according to him, he had the most spectacular life. He had called himself lucky and had loved every moment of his life. 

Sir Elton John An International Icon Over Decades

Sir Elton John born in 1947, rose as a singing icon from the 1970s. Sir John was a talented singer, and at the age of 11 years, he attended the Royal Academy of Music in the United Kingdom after winning a junior scholarship. Apart from his brilliant career in music, Sir John has been a pioneer in AIDS welfare and in 1992 founded the Elton John AIDS Foundation. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 for his contributions to music.
