Paul Pelosi, the spouse of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated on Saturday night. On Saturday night, Paul Pelosi was arrested when his Porsche collided with another car in Napa County.

Paul Pelosi, aged 82, was caught at 11:44 p.m. Saturday and detained at 4 a.m. Sunday on one charge of driving while being drunk and one count of driving around with a BAC of 0.08 or above, according to Napa County records.

Paul Pelosi’s Bail Set AT $5,000

Both counts are misdemeanors, and his bond was set at $5,000, according to court records. A request for comment from the Napa County Police Department was not immediately returned. Mr. Pelosi was attempting to cross State Route-29 when his automobile was struck by a Jeep driven by a 48-year-old man, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Drivers who have a blood alcohol level of greater than 0.08 percent are prohibited from operating a car in California. Mr. Pelosi’s level has not been revealed by authorities.

When the event occurred, Mrs. Pelosi was giving a speech at Brown University.

Her spokeswoman said she would not comment on the “private subject” in a statement.

Paul Pelosi has yet to make a statement on his arrest.
