Captain Tom Moore to open new NHS Nightingale coronavirus hospital in Harrogate

Captian Tom Moore, a WW2 veteran, has raised a fund of £27 million for NHS, by walking laps of his garden. He is set to open the latest NHS Nightingale temporary hospitals set up to help fight against coronavirus, in Harrogate.

The hospital has eight halls, split into individual wards of 30 beds, with most halls split into two or three separate wards. The facility will provide an additional 500 critical care beds for COVID-19 patients, along with the Harrogate Convention Centre, which has a capacity of more than 5,000. The conversion of the convention hall to the temporary hospital center took just 3 weeks’ work, starting from March 30.
