Nick Bosa Signs Record 5-Year Deal Worth $170 Million

Nick Bosa

Nick Bosa has finally signed a deal with the 49ers. The protracted negotiations finally yielded the highest-ever pay packet for a defensive player. They have agreed to a $170 million, 5-year deal with a $112.5 million payment guaranteed.

Nick Bosa thus becomes the highest-earner among defensive players though the figures are not official yet. This puts the 49ers’s defensive player’s earnings over that of Aaron Donald in a defensive lineup. The LA Rams defensive player was holding out even as he waited for the extension. Nick Bosa is into the last year as a rookie and was in line to earn $17.9 M and the 49ers realize that it was money well spent. He has proved himself among the top players ever in the league.

Nick Bosa has registered a record 51 tackles, 18.5 sacks, 48 QB hits, and 2 forced fumbles. His game was instrumental in helping the 49ers turn into the top defense lineup in 2022. He also earned the NFL Best Defensive Player title, as also the first All-Pro recognition in his career.

Nick Bosa To Earn $34 M Every Season

He was named the 2019 Defensive Rookie of the Year by the NFL and is a 3-time Pro Bowler. Steve Wilks, the 49ers coordinator, said that Bosa has proved that he is unique, and he is flexible enough for different roles. He called him completely solid in his role in defense.

Nick Bosa was originally the No. 2 overall in the NFL draft of 2019 out of Ohio. His brother Joey is a 4-time Pro-Bowl LA Chargers’ outside linebacker. Coach Kyle Shanahan said that the 2 sides have agreed to the deal. Nick Bosa will be moving to the team facility.

Shanahan said that he can be assured that the 49ers will not have to worry about starting the coming season without their best-ever defensive player. Nick Bosan will get an annual average of $34 M every season.
