In the first quarter of 2022, the majority of states began sending their relief payments. Maine and New Mexico were among the first states to take action, and while the majority of states chose to receive a single stimulus payment, New Mexico chose to stretch out its payout over four months.

But even though the sum was chosen and approved by Governor Gavin Newsom back in June 2022, states like California have arranged their payouts for the holiday season. For every vehicle registered in California, up to two Stimulus Checks for gas for $400 were first recommended by the Golden State.

The cards were intended to offer respite from the highest fuel costs in America. Due to several circumstances, including transportation and manufacturing problems as well as Californian legislation requiring the use of extra pure gasoline, gas prices in the state at one point reached levels that were nearly twice as high as the national average.

Large California-based corporations that made money during the pandemic have contributed to the state’s post-pandemic Stimulus Check. In addition to achieving a historic $300.6 state budget that included the Middle-Class Tax Rebate, the Golden State reported a record $97.5 billion surplus. The governor said that no other state in American history had ever seen a surplus as large when outlining changes to the budget that he had first suggested at the beginning of 2022 for the fiscal year beginning in July.

Local and state governments received Stimulus Check funding from the Rescue Plan, and companies were permitted to continue operating normally both during and soon after the outbreak. Due to this, local businesses and government agencies were able to continue running as usual and paid their employees despite a complete closure for months after the shutdown was reversed.
