John Mulaney Returns To Saturday Night Live’s Distinguished Five-Timers Club

John Mulaney will be back in the Saturday Night Live fold on February 26, the date he joins its distinguished five-timers club. The show announced the news during the episode last night. The five-timers club is for celebrity guests who have hosted SNL at least 5 times. This will make Mulaney’s first gig since the birth of his son with Olivia Munn.

John Mulaney will host the show along with a musical guest, American rock band LCD sound system, following the broadcast of the Winter Olympics by NBC in February.

The comedian was the host of the show back in 2018, 2019, and then twice in 2020. He was on a break in 2021. He joins showbiz luminaries like Paul Rudd, Drew Barrymore, and Tom Hanks. John Mulaney, Tina Fey, Scarlett Johansson, and can expect a snazzy club jacket and in turn, we can expect a night of another musical sketch.

John Mulaney Has Also Been A Writer And Has A Strong Fan Following

John Mulaney has been a fan favorite and has been a writer on the show for 4 years. His episodes have phenomenal ratings too. It was a no-brainer to bring him back into the fold.

Hw wrote on Saturday Night Live for 4 years straight between 2008 and 2012. He would then appear occasionally on the Weekend Update section of the show.

John Mulaney is also behind the creation of Bill Hader’s lovable Character Stefon. He is also among the fourth among SNL writers to have hosted the show without appearing as an official member of the cast.

Others who join this distinguished list include Larry David, Conan O’Brien, and Louis C.K.

Johan Mulaney hosted the show for the first time in April 2018. He within a year later in March 2019. The comedian hosted the show in February 2020 just before the pandemic struck America. He was back in the same year in October.

Rock band LCD Soundsystem was last featured as guest musicians on SNL in 2017 as part of a show with Chris Pine as the host.
