Amy Olson Will Play US Open While 7 Months Pregnant

Amy Olson

Amy Olson qualified on Monday and earned a berth at the 2023 US Women’s Open. After shooting a bogey-free round of 66 in the second round of the 36-hole United States Golf Association qualifying at Somerset Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, she qualified for the major.

On Monday, May 22, Amy Olson put together a strong qualifying round and won by two strokes. While Olson competes at the US Women’s Open in July at Pebble Beach, she will be seven months pregnant. Olson recently spoke with the Minnesota Golf Association and shared that she and her husband are expecting their first child in September, just 2 months after the important competition.

Amy Olson Qualifies For The US Open

“I’ll be seven months pregnant at [the U.S. Open],” Olson declared. It’s Pebble, so I wanted a chance to get it. That served as my primary incentive, and because it will be my final event before the baby is born, it is a fitting way to finish.

I’ve always enjoyed the U.S. Open, she continued. The course is always quite fairly laid out, yet challenging. In most cases, it’s straightforward: hit it straight, hit it far, and two-putt a lot of greens. That’s often how my kind of game is played.

Amy Olson continued by saying that she will do her very best to take home the trophy. There will be major changes in life.

We should congratulate Amy Olson on earning a spot in the US Open. Additionally, the USGA texted her to reassure her that they would look after her and make the big day special for her.

On her Twitter page, she sent a copy of her writing to the USGA with the description, “Already putting in my demands for the @uswomensopen. I’m a pain, but the @usga is here to help.
