Trump’s lawyers have reportedly demanded that Michael Cohen stop writing a ‘tell-all’ book about the president

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal lawyer for over a decade had pleaded guilty, in 2018, to several crimes like tax evasion, campaign finance violations, and bank fraud. He had also confessed to making false statements in front of Congress.

In 2018, he was sent to a federal prison in Otisville in New York for 3 years. His release date is 2021 November.

The New Yorker was reportedly set to be put under house arrest due to the coronavirus outbreak that has affected the federal prison as well. However, speculations have arisen that his release might be postponed.

Trump’s Lawyers Block Cohen’s Tell-All Book

Recently it was revealed that Michael Cohen might be planning to write a ‘tell-all’ book about President Trump which would have revealed a lot of private details about the President.

According to a close associate of Michael Cohen, “A lot of [the book] will be about looking at things he’s said and done with women and other and other [politically incorrect] things. It’ll be an insider’s look about what it was like to be alongside the president for 12 years.”

However, reports suggest that the move might be legally contested as there are already attempts being made to suppress the information. Lawyers from the Trump Organization have reportedly sent a cease and desist letter to Cohen to inform him that he was under a non-disclosure agreement while he was serving Trump. Hence, he will not be allowed to reveal such sensitive information to the public.

Charles Harder, the lawyer representing the organization has been quite clear in mentioning that due to the non-disclosure agreement signed by Cohen, it will not be legal for Cohen to reveal anything about the organization, Trump, or his family.

However, sources close to Cohen claimed that the tell-all book would not infringe upon the lawyer-client privilege.
