Coronavirus Has Killed Nearly 52,000 People In The US, Over A Quarter Of The World’s Deaths

Data suggests America to be one of the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The worldwide death toll is 197,000. Fatalities in the U.S stand at 52,000, covering over a quarter of the global figure.

Public health experts warn that the nation is yet to know the entire magnitude of the pandemic. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading epidemiologist, said that the testing capacity is still not where it needs to be.

Amidst massive controversy, Georgia Governor has decided to open up few non-essential businesses, even after experts suggested that the state should not ease restrictions until June 22. Business owners have resumed work while taking safety precautions.

Besides Georgia, Oklahoma and Alaska have also partly reopened local businesses.
