Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Parts of Chilton, Coosa, Shelby, and Talladega Counties till 7:00 AM CDT

A heavy thunderstorm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Birmingham. It is likely to last till 7:00 AM CDT.

Regions that should be on a lookout are South central Talladega county and Northwestern Coosa County in east-central Alabama and Northeastern Chilton County and Southeastern Shelby County in central Alabama. 

The thunderstorm is expected to move at 60 mph. A hail storm is likely to damage some properties. 

Some of the areas affected are Sylacauga, Calera, Talladega Springs, Hanover, Jemison, Bentleyville, Strickland Crossroads, Stewartville, Rockford, Gap Of the Mountain, Lyle, Unity, Lay Lake, Thorsby, Marble Valle, Mariah, Lay Lake Dam, and Minooka Park. 

A thunderstorm moving at 55 mph, 6:23 AM CDT, was located 7 miles east from Jemison.
