Ann Kirkpatrick, the Arizona-based  Representative, gave an announcement with regard to her decision for the 2022 elections. The Representative from the Democratic party stated that she will not be running in the year 2022.

The decision of Ann Kirkpatrick will undoubtedly pave way for attention at the national level in the coming elections. This is because the seat is controlled by the House of Representatives of the United States of America and it is also an open seat.

Ann Kirkpatrick’s Decision Leads To A Political Battle

The majority that the Democratic party has in the House, is not a strong one. Situations are not much in favour of the party as the opposition party have made a promise to make the 2nd district of Ann Kirkpatrick, a target. All the Republican party is waiting for is an opportunity for a flip. It will probably be an interesting battle to watch between the two parties. The Democrats will do everything in their power to continue their hold while the Republicans work to change the norm.

It is highly expected that a congressional district of number 10 will be assigned to the state. Owing to this reason, there will be a redistribution for the wild card. The level of competitiveness of the district of Ann Kirkpatrick will entirely depend on the lines that will be redrawn. The responsibility of redrawing the lines is given to the independent commission of the state. Everything depends on how the district is included in the map of the state.

The 70-year-old Arizona Democrat has been a representative of a total of two districts throughout her career as a congresswoman. The first district falls within the eastern and northern parts of Arizona, both of which are rural zones. And the second one is the area of southeastern Arizona which includes a huge part of Tucson. The second district was included just recently.
