Horner doubts F1’s top drivers will move teams in 2021

The contracts of the majority of drivers at the top teams – such as Red Bull’s very own Max Verstappen – die in the conclusion of 2020.

Mercedes’ world champion Lewis Hamilton has been connected with Ferrari, together with his group boss Toto Wolff indicating that there is just a 75percent likelihood of Hamilton staying.

“I believe all of the best men are from contract to the end of next year,” said Horner. “He [Verstappen] is quite happy in this group.

“We love having him in the group, he fits nicely here. It is down to us to provide him a competitive car next year, but I believe finally whenever the music stops I would not be surprised for everyone to wind up staying in the exact chairs”

Asked why he had been so convinced there wouldn’t be any changes, Horner said:”I believe [Charles] Leclerc’s under contract in Ferrari. Lewis obviously is fairly happy in his surroundings. Max is happy in his surroundings.

“If they are sitting in aggressive automobiles following year, why do they swap, or why do they go?”
