Trump abruptly ends briefing after being pressed over retweeting misinformation

Briefings at the White House have been revived again on Tuesday but ended abruptly after a CNN reporter asked President Donald Trump about his tweet.

Sources from DC have said that the president’s aides have been trying to bring his attention to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite their attempts, the president continues to listen to advice from people who are not health experts, sources say.

The controversial tweet in question is one where Trump supported a doctor who downplayed the importance of facemasks. The doctor is also infamous for suggesting that medical treatments have used alien DNA previously.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Dr. Fauci and the President have started talking again. In the daily briefing, Trump claimed that his relationship with Fauci is in good terms.

Trump also mentioned that Dr. Fauci has a high approval rating, while his ratings are low. He further said that his ratings should be high, keeping in view the White House has handled the pandemic. Trump concluded that it could be his personality that’s getting the best of him.

Trump later said, “I really do believe a lot of the governors should be opening up states that they’re not opening.”
