According to recent reports, LeBron James, Los Angeles’ basketball star is to continue playing for the team for another two years at least. This gets confirmed as the player signs a two-year extension deal with the LA Lakers for a sum of $85 million, says his agent, Rich Paul of the Klutch Sports Group to several media outlets this Wednesday.

LeBron James, 36, finished last season with an average of 25.3 points. He led the NBA with 10.2 assists per game. The player will be 38 by the time his deal with the Lakers ends.

Lebron James To Play 2022-23 Season With The Lakers

LeBron James will be playing the 2022-23 season with the Lakers, according to this deal. Considering those two seasons, he will be completing a total of 20 NBA seasons. His record shows that the now Lakers star played 11 seasons in Cleveland and 4 with Miami Heat and will be playing at least 5 for the Lakers till the completion of the deal.

According to his previous contracts, LeBron will be making $39.2 million this season, $41,180,544 from 2021-22 and around $44,474,988 for 2022-23. His total earnings by the end of this NBA contract with the Lakers will be about $435 million, according to sources.

LeBron James was awarded the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in 2020. This is because he led his current team, the LA Lakers against the Miami Heat in 6 games. He is the first player in NBA history to win the MVP award with three teams. LeBron James had earlier won this title when he was with the Cavaliers (2016) and the Heat (2012). With him on the team, the Lakers are in for a long run. He is currently on the No. 3 rank in NBA’s scoring list behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who has bagged the No.1 spot.
