Diana Taurasi is back to her old self after scoring a career-high 37 in the WNBA playoffs on Thursday. She was limping in Game 1 and in the earlier playoffs due to an injury to her ankle.

5th Seed Mercury won the game 117-91 against the 2nd seed Las Vegas Aces. They are now even in the WNBA semifinals with 1 apiece.

Diana Taurasi Was 10 From 13 On The Floor

Diana Taurasi scored 9 from 9 in free throws and was 10 from 13 from the basketball floor. She was quite lethal playing from the deep and knocked 8 3-pointers. She also contributed to 6 rebounds.

Brittney Griner was dominant too as she scored 25 pts, 7 rebounds, and had 5 assists to her name. She had set the tone of the game after scoring 16 in the first quarter.

5 of the players from Mercury had scored in double figures. They scored a WNBA record 68pts in the playoffs in the first half. They were shooting at a rate of 76.5% and knocked 7 3-pointers. They finished their shooting record at 60.6% and outscored the Aces on rebounds. They also had 26 assists in total.

The Aces had spread their scoring over the different quarters and on other nights it would have been enough but the Mercury domination was too much to handle.

The 6th Player of the Year Kelsey Plum led the Aces with 25 pts off the bench which included 3 3-pointers. Riquna Williams, who dominated in Game 1, added 17 pts.

Liz Cambage came back to the floor after fighting against COVID-19, even though she was fully vaccinated. She played for 25 mins and had scored 13 points in total.
