Dr. Linda Bilmes, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Chair in Public Policy and Public Finance at the Harvard Kennedy School, joined Yahoo Finance’s Alexis Christoforous and Sibile Marcellus to discuss her recently published study on the long-term costs associated with caring for veterans of America’s post-9/11 conflicts, and how taxpayers will be footing the bill for decades to come.

U.S. Marine Corps veteran Charlie Reeder, who served two tours in Afghanistan, talks to Yahoo Finance’s Alexis Christoforous and Sibile Marcellus about working to help free Afghan nationals who worked with the U.S. government. “They’ve been fighting with us for 20 years,” he said. “To just abandon them at the last minute is…heartbreaking.” He also discusses whether the U.S. troops should stay beyond the current deadline, and shares his views on whether the military effort was worthwhile.
