Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ daughter Lola has a flair for style — she did not get it out of her parents.
The couple opened around PEOPLE in their 18-year-old daughter’s sense of fashion when teaming up with Amazon Smiles to host a holiday celebration on Friday to get N.Y.C.-based charity Grow NYC, which offers shelter and housing to displaced families.
“She is cool. She is really cool. She has always been cool,” that the Riverdale celebrity, 48, informed PEOPLE of Lola, a freshman at New York University, prior to making it crystal clear he and his wife”have nothing to do with this ”
“We’ve got nothing to do with it because she is mortified by what we set on,” added the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, 49.
Obviously, obtaining a fashionista to get a daughter has its perks. “I really do ask her for guidance occasionally,” Consuelos stated, noting that he will seek out assistance when it comes to fitting different sections of the outfit together.
“You know, she will tell us if something is awful,” he clarified.

But Ripa’s adventure of speaking style together with her daughter is somewhat different.
“She does not even bother with me. She feels that what I use is awkward and horrible,” the mother of three stated. “But I believe that means that I have gotten something right.”
Ripa noted,”I do not believe your adolescent daughters need to like what you are wearing.”
Ripa and Consuelos are proud parents to sons Michael, 22, and Joaquin, 16.

And in regards to the holiday period, their number one priority will be spending some time together as a household. “Time is the thing we appreciate,” Ripa shared.
“We try to not detract from how we were raised,” she explained, noting that she and her husband were taught to love”the things which you cannot purchase, which will be being collectively.”
Ripa added:”They are making more things all the time, but they are not earning more time. So time is actually what we appreciate.”
