Francis Suarez, the Republican mayor of Miami, formally entered the 2024 presidential contest on Thursday by launching his candidacy. The speaker said that he learned from his father about choosing his battles and thus picked the most difficult one. He has decided to go for President to provide not only a better life for himself but also for his nation. “Let’s ensure they have the future they merit. It’s time for us to act independently,” concluded Francis Suarez. Suarez, who announced his candidacy this Wednesday, spoke in a clip posted on Thursday morning that it was time to get things going.

Francis Suarez Believes Himself To Be The Appealing Leader That His State Requires

Later that evening, in a declamation at the RR Presidential Library, Francis Suarez urged Republicans to come together and embrace Reagan’s “big tent” political philter to counter ex-President Trump and Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida. Suarez avoided mentioning any of his associate Floridians by their name.

Francis Suarez stated that the country needs a leader- someone who can appeal to groups that Republicans have lost, such as young people and urban residents, as well as those that we can gain, such as suburban women and Hispanics. Miami, Florida’s second-most populated city, is now served by Cuban American Suarez for a second term as mayor. He also presided over the political US Conference of Mayors until recently.

Francis Suarez’s run for president appears as Florida, a battleground state for many years, has been moving red as Republicans have made inroads in recent elections, particularly among the Hispanic voters. Trump lost Miami County, the state’s most populous region and home to Miami, by seven points in the 2020 election. He had been defeated by Hillary Clinton in the county by thirty points four years prior. Similar to last year, Ron DeSantis easily won reelection thanks in part to his performance in Miami-Dade, a historically important Democratic stronghold.
