Barr calls Russia scandal ‘bogus,’ says he acts independently of Trump in blistering opening statement

After William Pelham Barr was accused by the Democrats of numerable abuses, the former has now replied alleging the latter of discrediting him.

In the opening statement for Tuesday, Barr has suggested his investigation into the FBI’s Russia probe is the reason the Democrats are trying to discredit him.

He has also revealed handling many cases independent of President Trump who “has not attempted to interfere”.

In his written remarks, Barr said how since he clarified his intention of doing whatever needed to reach the bottom of the serious abuses associated with the ‘Russiagate’ scandal, many Democrats in Committee kept attempting to discredit him. They conjured up the narrative that “I am simply the President’s factotum who disposes of criminal cases according to his instructions. Judging from the letter inviting me to this hearing, that appears to be your agenda today.”

The House of Judiciary Committee is supervising the combat. Barr would also be questioned about his role in the administrative area during protests after George Floyd’s killing, and about influencing the sentence of people closely related to the President such as Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.
