Trump says remarks about heat, light, disinfectant were sarcastic

Trump has drawn a lot of criticism from the media and public after he claimed that people could use UV rays, sunlight, or even inject disinfectants to fight off Coronavirus. However, in a recent press meeting, he said that his remarks were actually sarcastic in nature. “I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen,” mentioned Trump to the reporters.

However, many reporters are confused about whether he actually meant to say those words sarcastically. Bret Baier, an anchor from Fox News, mentioned: “It didn’t seem like it was coming off as sarcastic when he was talking and turning to Dr. Birx on the side.” After the statement, even companies producing disinfectants like Lysol have warned people not to inject their products.
