The last set of campaign finance reports – marking the initial submissions for challengers – must be submitted to the Vicksburg City Clerk’s office by May 25 for the municipal election scheduled on June 3.
After the qualifying period for offices in January, incumbent candidates were obligated to file campaign finance reports for the calendar year 2024, while challengers were exempt from this first round of filings.
Reported funds by incumbent candidates are as follows:
Mayor George Flaggs Jr. reported $1,220.13 in itemized contributions, with no funds in non-itemized contributions. Additionally, he disclosed total non-itemized disbursements of $1,146.13, leaving a cash on-hand balance of -$74.
Incumbent Ward 1 Alderman Thomas Mayfield, who is running unopposed, and incumbent Ward 2 Alderman Alex Monsour both did not report any contributions or disbursements.
All three incumbents, along with mayoral candidates Kasman Massey and Willis Thompson and Ward 2 candidate Vickie Bailey, are required to file their financial reports for the period from January 1, 2024, to May 25, 2025, by the upcoming May 25 deadline.
