As he observed Memorial Day with the customary wreath-laying ritual at Arlington National Cemetery, President Joe Biden praised the sacrifice of generations of US soldiers who died defending their nation.

For the 155th National Memorial Day Observance, Biden was accompanied by first lady Jill Biden, vice president Kamala Harris, and Harris’ husband, Douglas Emhoff.

According to the agreement’s current language, nondefense expenditure would remain essentially unchanged in the 2024 fiscal year and rise by 1% the following year.

Joe Biden Remembers His Son Beau

In a review of the final days of the war published last month, the Biden administration mostly blamed his Republican predecessor, President Donald Trump, and claimed that Biden was “severely constrained” by Trump’s actions.

The U.S. is now in charge of a coalition of partners. Joe Biden has promised to assist Kyiv in winning the war by sending artillery, tanks, and drones as well as most recently allowing his allies to train the Ukrainian military on American F-16 fighter jets. Biden has stated that he thinks Beau Biden’s exposure to burn pits during his time in Iraq may have contributed to the brain cancer to which he succumbed.

One of the pieces of legislation that Biden praised during his address on Monday was the PACT Act. It provided health care insurance to millions of veterans who had been exposed to burn pits while serving. By mentioning that Tuesday marks the 8th anniversary of his kid Beau Biden’s passing from cancer, he drew on the experiences of his own family.

“Our loss is not the same — he was taken by cancer after serving in Iraq as a major in the US Army National Guard, not on the battlefield.”
