AN ASTEROID big enough to end civilization should it ever hit will approach our planet in April, NASA’s asteroid trackers have found.

The asteroid is being viewed by NASA’s computerized following frameworks at the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies in California, US. The space rock has been authoritatively called 52768 (1998 OR2) and is assessed to estimated up 2.5 miles (4.1km) over.

An object this large might spell the finish of humanity if it strikes the planet.

NASA appraises the stone is traveling our way at paces of about 8.7km every second or 19,461mph (31,320kmh).

In light of present conditions, the space rock will surround Earth on April 29.

At the point when this occurs, NASA said the space rock will make a “nearby methodology” to our planet.

As per the Planetary Society, a space rock greater than 0.6 miles (1km) across is sufficiently large to compromise worldwide destruction.
