Ben Wallace is having a great time so far this year. It began with his entry into the NBA Hall of Fame. On Tuesday, he turned out to be the lucky charm for the Detroit Pistons, his part franchise, in the NBA Draft Lottery.

The NBA Draft Lottery Results Are Out

For this year’s NBA Draft Lottery, the Pistons were the luckiest and got the first pick. Then came the Houston Rockets. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors closed out the top 4 respectively. The remaining picks in the first ten are the Magic, the Thunder, the Warriors who are getting Minnesota’s pick, followed by the Magic again on the back of Chicago’s pick; and then Kings and the Pelicans.

The Hornets, the Spurs, the Pacers, and a second Warriors pick complete the picks in the NBA Draft Lottery. The Warriors and the Magic are getting two selections from the lottery.

The Pistons had taken three players during last year’s NBA Draft’s first round: Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, and Killian Hayes. With this year’s top spot from the NBA Draft Lottery, they can look to get some talent from the high-end into their squad. This is the squad’s first selection from the top 5 after 2003 when they took the second overall Darko Milicic. This is only their 3rd such selection in four decades.

Troy Weaver, the general manager of the Pistons, said that the obvious pick will be a player for the wings as they continue their process of restoration. He has been in charge of basketball operations in Detroit for one year now.

Cade Cunningham, the guard for Oklahoma State, is heavily expected to be the first overall pick. As such, he plans to pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons until the draft begins.
