Hours before their matchup against Stanford in the NCAA Tournament’s second round, the Iowa State women’s basketball team secured a significant recruitment victory. Freya Jensen, a 5-foot-11 guard hailing from Denmark, revealed her decision to join the Cyclones via social media on Sunday. Jensen, part of the class of 2025, finalized her commitment following an official visit to Iowa State in February.

Enduring a journey of five flights to reach Ames for her visit, Jensen expressed admiration for the famed Iowa State fan base during her trip. Now, she eagerly anticipates becoming a part of it. Known for her prowess as a sharpshooter, particularly from beyond the arc, Jensen brings valuable scoring capability to the Cyclones. Her experience includes participation in the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship in 2023, where she boasted impressive averages of 16.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
