Rieko Ioane is going through a spell on the sidelines after injuring his hand

All Blacks and Auckland Blues winger Rieko Ioane will likely be sidelined for several weeks after fracturing a bone in his hand.

The 22-year-old sustained the harm within the Super Rugby season-opener towards the Waikato Chiefs final weekend.

Hooker Ray Niuia has been dominated out for the season after struggling a severe knee harm within the match at Eden Park final Friday, when the Blues took a 19-5 lead on the again of two Ioane tries solely to lose 37-29.

Prop Alex Hodgman, who has a calf harm, is one other front-rower who will miss Saturday’s second-round match towards the New South Wales Waratahs in Newcastle, the Blues stated in an announcement.

The accidents will come as a giant blow to the three-times Super Rugby champions, who need to get into the playoffs for the primary time since 2011.
