USA vs Mexico

On Tuesday in the Qatar World Cup USA faced Iran in the last match of their groups. Gregg Berhalter, the coach of the USA men’s national team, was requested to perform a variety of roles, including those of an economist, a customs officer, an authority on military strategy, and a UN ambassador. And on the match last Tuesday he become what probably he always wanted to become, that is a coach who made his nation qualify to the next round of the World Cup.

As USA defeated Iran 1-0 the coaching staff of the winning team celebrated with a group hug in the area for the coaches in the sidelines.

USA’s campaign in this world cup has proven that they are a strong team since the start of their opening match. In their first encounter in this world cup they have drawn against a Wales team that plays with players like Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey. Then in their second match they pulled off a nil-nil draw against mighty England who humiliated their opponents for the final match in their opening game.

USA men’s Team Qualified For The KO Stages Of The World Cup:

In their final match, both the teams qualified for their knockout stages in this World Cup. Iran came here beating Wales, so they had a confidence boost as well, as they were really looking forward to the knockout stages of the competition.

However, the USA men’s team, despite being a group of young men with lesser experience in such a huge competition, has shown mindset and class as they scored a goal and despite Iran’s constant attacks kept the lead intact till the final whistle of the game.

The build-up was sparked by that history. Without Berhalter or his players’ awareness, the USA’s Soccer Federation uploaded pictures of Iran’s flag on media platforms without their logo of the Islamic Republic in an effort to show approval for Iranian women who are trying to fight for their the most fundamental human rights. This contributed significantly to the unease before the game.
