Recently Karen Olivo has decided to speak out about the allegations related to the abuse meted out by Scott Rudin. This 44-year-old Tony winner has been nominated for the award this year.

She has been nominated for her role in Moulin Rouge!, which is a musical and he plays the character named Satine. Rudin had made the announcement through Instagram Live on 14th April, Wednesday that they will not be able to make a comeback to this musical soon after the Broadway reopens.

Karen Olivo cited the reason for this was the protest against the film producer, Scott Rudin, and the theatre for their silence against the recent abuse accusations from the former employees.

Karen Olivo took to her Instagram account to share with her fans that she will be using her power to bring some changes to the ongoing events on the sets of her musical. She further added that social justice is far more important to her than fame and money.

Olivo also informed that she is committed to building a just and better industry rather than constantly pocketing the money.

A few days ago, ex-employees had shared a detailed allegation against Rudin, the 62 years aged EGOT winner. They mentioned having suffered violent outbursts from the producer while working with him and under his production company named Scott Rudin productions.

Olivo even addressed industry peers urging them to speak up against Rudin since the silence surrounding these allegations is unacceptable. She requested everyone to keep their integrity by making this industry a place of integrity and respectable work ethics.

Finally, she demanded integrity from the theatre industry as well.
