Senate Passes $484B ‘Phase 3.5’ Coronavirus Stimulus Package By Voice Vote Amid Tensions In Chamber

The Senate is taking measures to aid in the process of re-opening the economy. A ‘Phase 3.5’ relief bill to replenish PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) which aids small businesses was passed on Tuesday. Hospitals are provided with another $75 billion to fast-track the process of widespread testing.

The vote to pass this bill happened at the Senate with Republicans hassling over the absence of some senators and the practice of roll call voice votes.

There is ongoing debate surrounding this payment to the small businesses as discrepancies seep out of Trump’s plans. Democratic sources suggest that there will be a Phase 4 of this project even if it is widely criticized by Republicans.
