The last year’s champions have started exactly from where they left last season. Real Madrid is currently running riot on the football field. Last Night RB Leipzig tried to stop them and failed again.

Wednesday’s Champions League match between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig ended in a 2-0 victory for the CL holder’s thanks to goals from Federico Valverde and Marco Asensio.

Using deft footwork on the edge of the box, Uruguayan international Valverde gently defeated a defender before quietly finding the bottom corner of the net in the 80th minute.

The 14-time champions put up a lackluster effort and, up until Valverde’s goal, had only mustered one attempt on goal, while Leipzig had plenty of chances but lacked the finishing touch.

In extra time, Carlo Ancelotti’s team secured the win thanks to a goal from substitute Asensio, who scored after Toni Kroos set him up.

Real Madrid Keeps On Running In Their Winning Streak With A 2-0 Win Over RB Leipzig Last Night:

Real has six points after two games in Group F, while Leipzig has none. Real is in the lead. Leipzig took on Real in their opening Champions League game under new manager Marco Rose and was easily the superior team in the first half, with attacker Christopher Nkunku giving the hosts plenty of trouble.

Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni made a critical tackle as Nkunku forced his way into the area and struck an early shot at Thibaut Courtois. Then, a Timo Werner cross from close range was just inches away from being caught by the France attacker.

Real didn’t contribute much offensively, but they believed they should have been awarded a penalty after Xaver Schlager smothered Luka Modric just before halftime.

Much of the second half went according to plan until Valverde, who had scored an incredible goal against Real Mallorca at the weekend with a run from his half, supplied the game-changing moment.
