Over 600 Muscogee County School District employees will receive coronavirus hazard pay

On Monday, the school board unanimously approved payment to all the MCSD employees for essential duties served during the pandemic crisis. 

They informed via video conferencing that 644 employees will share a total of $133,150 funded by the CARES Act. It will be part of the hazard payment.

On 27th March, Trump passed $2 trillion under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Security Act to assist essential workers, small businesses, and those most affected by the pandemic outbreak.

MCSD employees are also listed under essential employees. According to Gov. Brian Kemp, they are to receive $50 per day as a show of appreciation for their diligent work.
