Kevin McCarthy Is Having A Hard Time Choosing Investigation Committee Members

Kevin McCarthy, the minority leader of the House, is currently occupied in thinking about the most suitable people to investigate the Capitol riot that broke out in Capitol riot on the 6th of January. The investigation will be done on behalf of the members of the US Congress. The Republican businessman and politician have not yet decided if he should appoint anybody in the first place. And as far as the members of his political party are concerned, they simply have no interest in the investigation. The reason for this is because they want to escape the project that is “politically fraught.”

Kevin McCarthy And The Naysayers

Even those Republican politicians who voted to get Donald Trump, the former Republican impeached, have an extremely low interest in being a part of it. All ten of them. The former President was held responsible for inciting the deadly revolt that ended up killing a total of five people. But in the midst of all these political uncertainties, what remains the question of the day is whether Kevin McCarthy will go for someone who is a big-time Trump sympathizer. He might go for those Republicans who favored the former Republican President when he was busy spreading election rumors. The same people who did not consider the seriousness of the Jan 6th riot.

The lack of interest of the members of the GOP in being a part of the investigation committee together with the statement of Nancy Pelosi over the selection is something that further toughens the job of the Republican House minority leader, Kevin McCarthy. The list that he has already had a very narrow number of participants to choose from.

The ones who are openly accepting to be a part of the said investigation committee are Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Representative from the state of Georgia, and Matt Gaetz, the Representative hailing from the state of Florida. And those Representatives who have directly displayed their lack of interest in the job include Representative Don Bacon, Representative Rodney David, and Cathay McMorris, another Representative.
