However, things were not at all rosy for Federer from the beginning. The initial round had his opponent in the lead, who unfortunately gave up midway handing Federer a fortunate win.

This was Roger Federer’s win number 105 on the court of grass and he surely will back himself to clinch his 9th title at Wimbledon to create history. Federer expressed his happiness over the win referring to the circumstances as “tricky”.

Federer always rose like a Phoenix from the ashes. The 39-Year-old superstar looked pale in his match just a month ago when he lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Apart from once in the fag end of Set 1, Roger Federer did not have any hiccups as he reigned supreme on Sonega.

Federer held a prestigious record of 2-0 over Sonega, who happens to be the solitary Italian in the first 100. Federer has now won all his matches against the Italian.

Eyeing his record, the only person that stands in his way is Novak Djokovic. The No.1 in the world stands as the stumbling block between Federer and his record. Critics however are positive about Roger winning it considering the form he is in. Let’s wait and watch!
