We Need to Fight Climate Change Like The Coronavirus Pandemic, Warns UN

The UN recently said that the world should fight the COVID-19 pandemic with courage and determination, but it should also fight climate change with the same fervor.

With the effects of global warming reaching a new peak in the last five years, the World Meteorological Association, part of the UN, advised the world to flatten that curve too with comprehensive action.

On the 50th anniversary of World Earth Day, the WMO showed that at one observation station, CO2 levels had risen by 26%, while the average global temperature had risen by 0.86 degrees Celsius since 1970.

The agency also pointed out that the effects of COVID-19 are making the effects of climate change worse, with socioeconomic conditions worsening across all strata of society.
