Sean Penn believes that American people have become feminized. In a recent interview, he spoke about his views on masculinity. He claimed that it was down to ‘cowardly genes.’ He said it is causing leading men to give up wearing jeans and don a skirt.

Sean Penn spoke about his political activism, about the mixed feeling he has about journalism. He spoke out against what he termed as the tribalism prevalent in social media. The actor also spoke about what he termed as the nonexistence of masculine behavior in modern people.

Sean Penn stars in his latest movie, Flag Day. He added that women in his life do not consider masculinity to be a mark of oppression, and he believes that they are quite strong. His daughter, who is also his co-star in Flag Day, was present at the interview. The interviewer said that she was uncomfortable, keeping quiet and staring into nothingness.

Penn said that he is part of the group that believes that masculinity is not about disrespect to women or being insensitive or a brute towards them. But it doesn’t mean that you have to emulate and imitate them to sympathize with them, he said.

In other parts of the interview, Sean Penn talked of the experience of starring opposite Dylan. It is centered on the factual account told in the book by Jennifer Vogel, Flim-Flam Man: The True Story of My Father’s Counterfeit Life, released in 2004.

The star of Mystic River also spoke about anti-vaxxers. He was scathing as he said that people at times consider their freedom and privilege as a license to turn anti-citizen, and failed citizens. He said that such people will come up will various kinds of phony science to legitimize and justify their reason to stay unvaccinated.
