Sudan police say at least 43 killed in head-on vehicle crash

CAIRO (AP) — A head-on collision between a truck carrying passengers and one other vehicle killed at least 43 folks and left 32 others injured on a freeway in Sudan’s Darfur area, police mentioned Friday.

The police assertion mentioned the crash happened late Thursday in the city of Shangil Tobayi in North Darfur province.

The assertion did nor elaborate on the reason for the crash. It mentioned a hearth broke out in the truck earlier than firefighters put it out.

Some of the injured have been in important situation and brought to a hospital in al-Fasher, the provincial capital of North Darfur, it mentioned.

The truck, which was loaded with passengers, was touring from Shangil Tobayi when it collided with a passenger vehicle heading towards the city, greater than 1,100 kilometers (about 620 miles) west of the capital, Khartoum, police mentioned.
