Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch Set To Marry For 5th Time

92-year-old media mogul Rupert Murdoch is set to marry for the fifth time as the business magnate got engaged to former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesly Smith. The news was confirmed by the Australian-born American businessman’s spokesperson last Monday. Their wedding will take place in late summer. He first met his soon-to-be wife Smith,66, in September at his vineyard Moraga in California’s Bel Air and he called her two weeks later.

Murdoch told about his relationship with the News Corp-owned Ny Post, which broke the news of the engagement. Smith was previously married to Chester Smith, a country singer, and radio and TV executive, who passed away in August 2008. Smith told the New York Post that their engagement was a divine blessing and revealed that she had been a widow for 14 years. Smith shared that, like Murdoch, her late husband was a businessman, and they both hold similar beliefs, which made communication between them pretty easy.

Rupert Murdoch stated that he and Smith were both looking forward to spending the second half of their lives together. The couple plans to split their time between California, Montana, New York, and the UK. The wedding is set to take place in late summer. This news comes less than a year after his divorce from Jerry Hall was finalized.

Murdoch had a quiet celebration for his 92nd birthday on March 11, while his company is dealing with a significant lawsuit related to defamation during the US election. A photo of him was shared on Instagram by his daughter Grace, who is 22 years old. Smith described the relationship as a gift from God, and the engagement took place at the correct time.
