‘I Failed In This Game’: Real Madrid Boss Ancelotti Takes Blame After El Classico Hiding

Real Madrid boss Carl Ancelotti took full responsibility after his team was thrashed by Barcelona 4-0 in the El Clasico. Real Madrid was stunned by the visitors with Aubameyang firing in two to power Xavi to a stunning one-sided victory.

Carlo Ancelotti admitted that Real Madrid seemed unrecognizable at the Bernabéu, and the team came apart at the seams as everything possible went wrong. His counterpart Xavi complimented his Barcelona side and said this team is like family even as they move to the third spot at La Liga.

Ancelotti took the whole blame for the Sunday night debacle. Los Blancos stood humiliated on their home turf as Ferran Torres and Ronald Araujo added the other two to complete the tally.

Karim Benzema remained on the sidelines with an injury for Real Madrid, but Ancelotti refused to use that as an excuse. He said that it was tougher as it was El Classico. It was tough for the fans, and it was necessary to stay composed and get back on rails, said Ancelotti.

Real Madrid Have A Comfortable 9 Point cushion In The Spanish League

He said that the team needs to forget this match and move onward. Luckily, they have a comfortable lead in the Spanish League. It is only the third time that Ancelotti’s team was  defeated this season and the only time that they were beaten on their home turf in the Bernabeu

Real Madrid has a 9 point lead over Sevilla in second place. They are almost assured of lifting their second Spanish League title in the last three years.

Barca is on a roll in recent matches after their fifth consecutive win in the league. They have transformed under Xavi and have moved up to the third spot in the league, and are just three points behind Sevilla.

Barcelona has also scored 4 goals in five out of the last eight games in all forms of competition. The new signing for Barca, Aubameyang has been particularly prolific.

Xavi said he was happy and proud that the fans are enjoying Barca’s games. He said that the team was ahead in both the number of goals and the quality of their game.
