Bayern Munich has changed their coach out of nowhere. They have now sacked Julian Nagelsmann and have brought in Thomas Tuchel when there are still two months left in Nagelsmann’s contract. However, the question is, can it be an expensive mistake from the Bayern board?

As things were standing, even if getting a trophy in his first season with Bayern was not enough, Nagelsmann this season had a great chance of winning the treble. Bayern Munich under Nagelsmann would have been playing the quarter finals they were also sitting point clear at the top of the bundesliga table. They were also the second favorite after Manchester City to win the UCL this season.

The worst part about this whole news is, Nagelsmann was on a skiing vacation in Australia and he found out about the news through various media outlets. However, the Bavarians have promised to pay Nagelsmann’s salary until he finds a new club, it might just become the worst mistake by the Bayern Munich board.

Bayern Munich May Have Made the Worst Managerial Mistakes By Sacking Nagelsmann

In , Bayern paid a record compensation fee to bring Nagelsmann as the coach of the Bavarian club from RB Leipzig after their success in the UCL under Nagelsmann. The coach who has always been a Bayern fan growing up was finally in the job of his dreams. Bayern gave him a five-year contract keeping a long-term project in mind. Such a long-term contract is very rare for Eurpean coaches. However, now, in 2023, they are sacking that coach even when they know they have to compensate him for his contract.

As per Oliver Kahn, the chief executive of the board, post World-Cup performance of the Bavarian club was not very impressive. This sudden fluctuation in performance post World Cup meant that Nagelsmann had to go.
