UK President Biden along with the first lady are all set to welcome the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on the eve of Thursday at the White House where the host is ready to serve a menu that is plant-based for their guest of honor being a vegetarian.

Being a notorious picker with food, President Joe Biden, a diplomatic thoughtful gesture would be to select stuffed portobello mushrooms for the main course. Biden showing his willingness to be served vegetables while he is the host to Modi signals the importance he holds on to US-India relations which is a legendary aspect considering his Asia strategy. However, Modi has a good track record which can be concerning regarding human rights, and not to miss the shift towards authoritarianism.

Narendra Modi has, in turn, agreed to be a part of a pressing engagement that would be conducted one-and-one with President Joe Biden after the meetings- as a result of delicate and lengthy negotiation between both sides. Since both do not fall at par, both gestures signal the willingness of both to give in a little.

The ruling party BJP of Narendra Modi has come under inspection from opposition lawmakers and rights groups for their extreme Hindu nationalism in India raising concerns about religious intolerance and restrictions on dissent. Right before the visit, more than 70 lawmakers grouped together and composed a letter urging Biden to talk about the concerns regarding human rights during the meeting which is something the officials of the White House have agreed on doing.

Narendra Modi Will Officially Visit The White House On Thursday
