Denver Nuggets Get Their Rings, Unveil Banner

Nikola Jokic had two things to look at. One was the fresh championship banner being hoisted on the rafters. The other was the ring sparkling on his left hand. Both of them were causes of extreme joy for the man. On the night of October 24th, the Denver Nuggets, including Jokic, hosted a celebratory pregame ceremony. The franchise had won its first-ever NBA title last season and the stadium was filled to capacity. Their season began against LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers while carrying the newly acquired title of defending champions.

Denver Nuggets Sets Out To Repeat History

Denver Nuggets’ title came after 47 seasons in the NBA. Michael Malone, the coach of the Nuggets, said that the previous season was simply amazing. He riled up the fans asking if anyone wanted another ring after getting the one. He then rallied everyone present to chase their second one. Their season started exactly how it ended too – with a victory. They beat the Lakers 119-107 points.

Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA, was present for the Denver Nuggets’ festivities. Other celebrities present were Stan Kroenke, the team’s owner, and Josh Kroenke, the president of the team. Josh carried the Larry O’Brien Trophy into the middle of the court so that the party could begin.

In the previous season, the Denver Nuggets had a win-loss record of 16-4 during the playoffs. This included sweeping the Lakers during the finals of the Western Conference. As such, it might have been a bit poetic for the Lakers, along with James, to be present as part of the opener while the celebrations roared. Aaron Gordon, the forward for the Nuggets, said that it was appropriate for the new season to begin in Denver since the previous one ended in the city. He then thanked everyone who turned up to support them for the night as well as through the long season as they strive for a repeat.
