West Ham United Wins 2023 Europa Conference League Final Against AFC Fiorentina

West Ham

The English football club, West Ham United F.C. won against AFC Fiorentina scoring 2-1 in the 2023 Europa Conference League final on June 7 at the Eden Aréna, in Prague. After the great win, David Moyes, manager for West Ham United stated that this win is the greatest highlight of his career. It was West Ham player Jarrod Bowen who scored the winning goal at 90 minutes securing his team’s win against Fiorentina. This win is also Ham United’s first Europa Conference title in over 58 years.

The progress made by Ham United is much owed to the guidance of its manager, Moyes. He has previously coached over 1,000 games, in his career spanning 25 years managing clubs like Everton F.C. Following the victory at the Europa Conference League final, Moyes commented on the club’s win and his position as manager, stating jokingly that if anybody had told him 3 years ago when he took over the job that he would finish in Europe, then he would call that person mad.

West Ham Manager Shares Winning Moment With His Father

Manager Moyes had a moment of greater pride of achievements as West Ham won the final, as he shared the winning moment with his father David Sr. Moyes. He said that it was his father of whom he had thought first to put the medal around his neck and that he also hoped that his father enjoyed the moment. In December of 2019, Moyes took over as club manager for Ham United. He had previously been appointed by the club for the 2017-2018 session, however, he had left Ham United as his contract was not renewed.
