Valerie Bertinelli Opens Up About Struggling With Body Image

Valerie Bertinelli uploaded a video in which she talks about her body dysmorphia. She uploaded the video on her Instagram page on Friday. The emotional video showed Valerie explaining how a photograph of herself made Valerie sink into self-loathe and disgust. 

Valerie Bertinelli, aged 61, said her body did not bring her contentment and happiness. She has not been able to accept her body.

Valerie Bertinelli Suffers From Body Dysmorphia 

Valerie is very unhappy with her body’s current state. She is certain that her body, presently, only brings her sadness and pain. Valerie did say that she is trying her best to stay positive and love her current self. She hopes that her body will improve.

Valerie Bertinelli is a mother of one. She pepped up herself saying that she will not pay attention to all the flaws, imperfections, and shortcomings. 

Valerie believes that everyone is allowed to be happy and grateful and have their moments of weakness. Valerie explained that good and bad can coexist. Valerie has been grateful through the moments where she hated her body. 

Valerie Bertinelli is a Food Network host. She has spoken up about body shaming on social media. In July, Valerie uploaded a video where she addressed a comment on her recipe post. The comment read that she should lose weight. She held back tears while she sarcastically snapped back. She said she does not have mirrors or a scale at home and thus needed that comment to open her eyes. 

Valerie explained that fat-shaming someone is not helpful at all. It is extremely toxic and hurtful. If a person has gained weight, Valerie first wonders if the person is in a bad place mentally, physically, or emotionally.

In November, Valerie filed for divorce from Tom Vitale. Tom is an entrepreneur and financial planner. They tied the knot in 2011, 5 years after Valerie’s first divorce from Eddie Van Helen.
