Taylor Swift on Nov. 21, 2013, just a few months after the Denver meet-and-greet that resulted in lawsuits. Former radio host David Mueller sued Swift, claiming she had gotten him fired. Swift countersued for sexual assault.

Taylor Swift announced that her recording of the 1989 album will include a bonus track. On October 27, the Love Story singer revealed that this re-recording will have a new release of the celebrated Bad Blood remix that will feature Kendrick Lamar. Swift celebrated Kendrick Lamar’s immense involvement with the 1989 album. She said that watching him create and then record the verses on the remix of Bad Blood, was one of her more profound experiences. She said that she still feels pride and gratitude as she looks back on the collaboration.

Swift has spoken of the ways Lamar has elevated the single and also the way Kendrick treats every person around him. She said that the fans would chant Lamar’s words, ‘You forgive…but never let it…go!’ and that brought a smile to her face. Swift also voiced her gratitude that Lamar was fully involved in the 1989 endeavor. She said that she found it bewildering and even surreal that Lamar would involve himself and again record Bad Blood.

1989 (Taylor Version) Is Her Fourth Re-Recorded Album And Contains Unreleased Songs

The remix version of Bad Blood came out originally in 2015 after the release of the acclaimed 3rd album, To Pimp A Butterfly. This was around the same time that 1989 was reaching stratospheric heights after it was released in 2014. It was the year that 1989 edged out Frozen as the most popular album. The remix propelled the single to the top of the Billboard charts.

The chart-topper music video features not just Lamar and Swift but also Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Hailee Seinfeld, Ellie Goulding, Zendaya, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Hayley Williams, Ellen Pompeo, Cindy Crawford, Mariska Hargitay, and many more.

Critics have written that the arrangement and the production are very much the sound of Taylor Swift of the present era, not from the style of almost a decade ago. All the 3 re-recordings have debuted at the top, and each one of them has performed better than the earlier version.
