Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’ Smashes Spotify Records As It Heads For The Biggest Debut Of 2020

On Friday, Taylor Swift released a new album called Folklore. This is the first album release for this year and it’s a record hit. Data shows that it’s going to smash all previous records.

The album has been streamed more than 89 million times on Spotify. This is the biggest first-day record for Spotify.

Back in 2019, Ariana Grande’s song saw massive first-day streaming of 70.2 million. This year, Legends Never Die was streamed 73 million times. Now, with Taylor Swift’s latest album release, it looks like she is the reigning queen.

The album has seen unprecedented high as it became the most streamed song in the history of female artists. In the U.S alone, the song was streamed around 44 million times. This is twice the number her previous album saw.

On a global level, the pop icon’s Spotify ranking is eight. However, The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” still claims the title of being the most streamed song in 2020.

Analysts have predicted the streaming and sales of the song to increase significantly over the next few weeks to become 2020’s biggest debut.
