Reality TV is back, baby!
The Bachelorette will officially function as the first major network show to begin filming again in the United States following coronavirus pandemic. Never mind the fact that the pandemic hasn’t actually, uhhhh, slowed down at all or anything. But TV is back!

Variety was the first outlet to report the news on Friday, confirming that even though no official start date has been set yet, the show is already piecing together “heavy-duty safety precautions” for everybody involved. Leading lady Clare Crawley, the rest of the cast, and the crew have apparently all been notified that they’ll be heading off setting “very soon,” aswell.
It’s still unclear exactly where they’ll film; in line with the news outlet, the quarantined filming location will be somewhere in southern California, though it will apparently not be in Los Angeles County. Production is reportedly going “above and beyond” to make sure that no visitors or press are allowed on site during filming, in a bid to keep up a safe space without risk of further spreading the pandemic. Cast and crew will undergo quarantine procedures for a time before filming begins, too.
All this leaves us to wonder exactly where they could be filming or even in Los Angeles County… Santa Barbara? Orange County? Palm Springs? BAKERSFIELD?! OKAY, just kidding about that last one (we think), but, uhhhh, each one of these safety precautions really inform you that they’re not experimenting at all, are they?!
This will also mark the first Bachelorette season ever sold where the leading lady has the capacity to research her suitors in advance, and Crawley has done that. As you’ll recall, her cast was announced in early March right before the original coronavirus turn off, so the 39-year-old has had just time to lookup her guys and see who may be a good fit on paper. That should definitely lead to an interesting dynamic when this whole thing comes to life on air, won’t it?!
