Liverpool Loses Ground In Title Race

Jürgen Norbert Klopp is a former player. He is presently Liverpool’s manager. He expressed his disappointment with his team’s performance. Liverpool lost 1-0 against Leicester City. He said that his team performed poorly and gave the match away. 

Ademola Lookman scored the goal that led to Leicester’s victory. Leicester City has 6 injured defending players. Even with the handicap, Leicester City is the only team out of 35 teams to not let Liverpool score. Liverpool’s manager was unable to explain his team’s loss.

Liverpool’s Dream Of Winning The Title Lost?

There is a possibility that Manchester City could be 12 points ahead of Liverpool, on Sunday. Jürgen Klopp states that either LFC or Chelsea will lose points before meeting again in Stamford Bridge.

In an interview, Klopp explained that the gap between LFC and Manchester City is huge. Them having to play against Chelsea is not helping them. They did not plan on letting Pep Guardiola’s team get away. He said that if Liverpool kept playing the same way, they would have to bury their hopes of winning the title. 

Klopp hopes that LFC will pull up their socks. He does not know what went wrong in the match. His main concern is to find an explanation for his team’s loss. He admitted that Leicester City deserved the win. They had many of their main players out with covid. Even so, Liverpool was not able to win. 

Jürgen Klopp informed that he did not enjoy a lot of instances in the game. He said that LFC did not put in enough. Klopp did point out that they could have defended the goalpost better. Their defense is top tier but was not in this game. Many players performed below standard and he does not know why. 

Mohamed Salah missed a penalty in the game. Klopp defended him stating that Mohamed always scores in situations like these. Usually, the team performs better too. So Mohamed Salah is not to be blamed.
